SSM Lunch Program
At the end of August 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture extended all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waivers through December 31, 2020, dependent on available funding. This extension allows all schools to serve lunches free of charge to their students under the umbrella of SFSP.
What this means for SSM is that ALL currently enrolled students will be offered a school lunch at no charge. Students will be offered lunch, free of charge, retroactive to September 1, 2020, through as late as December 31, 2020 (dependent on available funds).
Details:
- This benefit applies to one lunch (main or yogurt option) and 1 milk, per day, per student.
- Extra entrée and/or extra milk will be charged at the regular price.
- Cold lunch milk will still be charged at regular price.
- All meal charges to family accounts from September 1st through September 18th will be applied as a credit to be used after the free lunch period ends.
- As always, negative balances need to be cleared as soon as possible.
- The procedure for students to order lunch and all other rules that guide the SSM School lunch program remain the same.
- When the SFSP program ends, lunch accounts will revert back to being charged appropriately.
