Thank you for being patient with the craziness of the first two weeks of classes. It is so exciting to have all the students back. For safety measures, we do ask that you follow the notes below.

Parents please stay in the commons till the final bell rings before walking to your child's classroom to pick them up.
If you need to grab a child early, stop in to the office and we will call them down to the office to meet you.
Students in PreK, 1st & 2nd must wait in the classroom with our volunteers until a parent or sibling comes to pick them up.
If your child will be absent, please call us at 402-896-5683 or email RE.attendance@stephen.org. If we do not receive a prior notice we will call you to verify the absence.

The Parent Handbook is available online and we also have copies in our office available to pick up if you would like a hard copy. This handbook covers covers all our requirements, curriculum information, and safety measures we have in place.

Parent-Led Faith Formation

Begins September 3rd

Welcome back! Our first Parent Gathering will be on Wednesday September 3^rd at 7:00pm. Each family will receive two textbooks: a Parent’s Guide and an Activity Book as part of the curriculum, A Family of Faith: Catechesis for the Whole Family, Volume 1, by Sophia Institute Press.

At the beginning of each month, parents will gather for a discussion of the background readings for the home activities. The “Parent Gatherings” will be led by China Weil, Father Matthew Pohlman, or Sandy Kimmey. Throughout the month, parents will then choose which activities best suit your children’s learning needs and complete them as a family. Mid-month, your children will join you and the other families in this program for a “Community Gathering,” led by Sarah Valasek, where you will discuss the activities and share your family’s experiences. The first Community Gathering will be September 21st at 7:00pm.

Our Parish Middle School Ministry, CATCHING FIRE, will launch a youth group program in early 2026 and is looking for volunteers to join the core leadership team! If you are feeling the call to action with our Middle Schoolers, let's talk! No matter what your level of interest is, no matter what your skill set, no matter what your availability might be --- let's talk! Please join us for our first practice on Thursday, September 18th from 6-6:45 pm in the church. Schedules will be available that night and emailed to each family as our way of checking to see if we have the correct email addresses.

All information for our Children's Choir will be sent by email. Each Monday you will get a weekly update email. Let us know if you do not receive those. Any changes in the schedule or weather related information will also be given by email.
