A Message from Mrs. Perrault, Principal
Dear Families,
I wish everyone a joyous and peaceful Easter. As we prepare to celebrate Christ’s resurrection, I pray that we can reflect on our lives and our own sacrifices and struggles knowing that through Christ we are forgiven and redeemed with the promise of eternal happiness.
Last week we had our 5 year Nebraska Department of Education Accreditation review. The Accreditation team couldn’t say enough about the amazing culture and continuous growth of our school. We will share the report with all of our families and staff once it has been submitted. Thank you to all of you who “ignite the joy of faith, community, and learning”!
The school calendar for next year will be approved by the School Advisory Board later this month. We will then send it out to our families. I can tell you now that the first day of school is scheduled for August 18, 2025, with noon dismissals on the 18th and 19th. Our “Back-to-School" event is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, 2025.
I look forward to the rest of this school year and all the special events that happen last quarter. Please continue looking at the Google School Calendar and check your Friday “FACTS Push Notifications”. It is a busy time, and before you know it– Summer Break will be here.

Administration Updates
Upcoming Emergency Preparedness Drills
As part of our commitment to emergency preparedness, we will have several drills during April & May. Teachers will discuss the drills with students to prepare them. Parents/guardians are also welcome to discuss the drills with their children. All students, preschool-8th grade, will participate if they are on campus during the designated time. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Verraneault.
- Lockdown Drill: Thursday, April 24th, 1:15 PM
- Teachers discuss with children that this drill is for very rare situations in which we need an added layer of protection for the safety of our students and staff within our own building.
- Students are trained to move away from sight and maintain silence.
- Teachers are trained to lock classroom doors, turn lights off, move out of sight, maintain silence, not unlock/open doors except to first responders, and take roll call of students.
- During the drill, K-8 students can expect that administration will be walking halls and verifying that doors are locked and teachers do not open the door when someone approaches.
- Evacuation Drill: Wednesday, April 30th (pending weather), 10 AM
- Evacuation drills are practiced for an emergency situation (i.e. a gas leak) when students and staff need to leave the St. Stephen campus.
- Our evacuation location is YMCA - Armbrust.
- Our evacuation route is down the south drive, west on 'V' street to the crosswalk to cross 168th street; north on 168th Street sidewalk to the YMCA.
- For the drill, we will practice our evacuation route but will stop before crossing 168th Street.
- Severe Weather Drill: Thursday, May 1st, 9:15 AM
- Shelter in designated areas.

Students are invited to bring a flower for our May Crowning on Friday, May 9th. Volunteers will collect the flowers from students on Friday morning in the School Commons before school.

Join us for an Egg Hunt
Join us for an Easter Celebration on Sunday, April 27th following 10:30 AM Mass! We’ll start in the Dining Room with donuts, coffee cart, and face painting. Then we’ll head out to the field for an egg hunt and a visit from live bunnies for the kids to pet and hold! We are currently seeking volunteers to help us with the festivities! - A waiver was sent home in last week's Friday Folders. This waiver is required & must be presented upon entry to the dance.
- St. Stephen the Martyr Middle School Students only.

School Supplies for 25-26 School Year
Order now, thank yourself later! Home & School organizes the sale of ready-made school supply packs that will be delivered to your child's classroom on Back to School Night. This is not a fundraiser, but is a service that Home & School provides to our families. Families are not obligated to purchase through EPI and may choose to shop according to the Supply Lists provided on our website. Use the button below to order EPI Packs & use code STS021. Be sure to order supplies for your child's 2025-2026 grade level. The deadline to order is June 1st.
Graduation Luncheon
8th grade parents: Check our website & app for a roundup of all the 8th grade end-of-year information you need to know!
8th Grade students will be honored at a 10:30 AM Mass and graduation ceremony. Following Mass, Home & School will host a taco bar lunch for 8th-grade students, their parents (or two special guests), and teachers.
Save the Date: Night at the Ball Park is May 27th!
