Confirmation Retreat- Grade 8
On March 21 & 22, One Heart One Fire Ministries, a local nonprofit ministry team based in the Omaha Archdiocese, will provide a wonderful Confirmation Retreat for St. Stephen the Martyr Confirmation Candidates. Our 8th graders will have the opportunity to experience God and grow in relationship with Him, as well as with one another. We will hear from speakers, play games, engage in small group activities, experience Eucharistic Adoration, as well as enjoy opportunities to pray with and for one another. Please keep all the Confirmation candidates and the retreat team in your prayers as we journey into God’s heart together.
Seeking Young Adult Volunteers
One of the things that makes this Confirmation Retreat special is that the
small group discussions are led by teen and young adult volunteers in high school or college! (Tenth grade and older preferably). These young adult volunteers will be given discussion questions to use with their groups, as well as instructions on how to serve as a small group leader at the beginning of the retreat. Adults will be present to assist small group leaders.
Please speak to your high school/college teens and young adults about this great opportunity to be a role model for the middle schoolers of our church and to help make these retreats a memorable experience for your Confirmation candidates.

As kids trek the tundra, they'll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what's true in our wild world today. Pointing them towards Jesus, True North Totally Catholic VBS shows them that He is a faithful friend we can always trust.

High School Students-
Join us for Witness Wednesdays!
Alongside teens from both St. Wenceslaus and St. Stephen the Martyr, we will spend time together learning from powerful witnesses to our faith, diving into the Bible, exploring how to live our faith in the world, and spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament allowing God to love us and answer that love with praise & worship. Witness Wednesdays are every Wednesday (unless noted differently) from 8-9:30 PM and the location rotates between St. Stephen the Martyr and St. Wenceslaus. Snacks and drinks are provided, except on Adoration evenings.

2025 Scholarship Application
St Stephen the Martyr Knights of Columbus are accepting applications for the 2025 Deacon Wesley Kreun Memorial Scholarship. This is not an academic scholarship, but instead the awards will be chosen based upon the applicant’s service activities within the parish as well as any other charitable activities. There will be four $500, one-year scholarships awarded to individuals attending local Catholic High Schools, as well as four $1000 1-year scholarships awarded to individuals attending an accredited college or university. In addition, we will have one $1000 scholarship to an individual attending a trade school. You can pick up your applications either from the kiosk in the Gathering Space or from the Parish Office between now and April 30. Grades 7-11 Essay Contest
On the Dignity of the Human Person
One of your friends says that when she was at Mass on Sunday, the Priest quoted the Catechism of the Catholic Church: “Human life is sacred” and that “human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception” (CCC 2258, 2270). However, your friend is confused about why human life is “sacred” and “must be respected and protected absolutely” and wants you to help her understand this teaching. Explain why human life is sacred from the moment of conception and how abortion violates the sacred dignity of the unborn child and their mother. All entries must be received by March 25th, 2025.
