A Message from Mrs. Perrault, Principal
Dear Families,
Fall has definitely settled in here in Nebraska. I hope that we can enjoy the season a little while before Winter comes to visit. At the end of the month we will celebrate Thanksgiving, but I always think of the entire month as a reminder of all of my blessings. The St. Stephen the Martyr community is always at the top of list of blessings. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know and love all of you. I am also so thankful for all of our veterans who sacrifice(d) so much to protect our country and freedoms. We hope to see many of you and family members on Monday, Nov. 11th, when we have our Veterans Day Assembly. See more information below.
This month our teachers are not only working hard with all of our students, but they are working collaboratively with one another. During today’s afterschool PLC, teachers will be analyzing STAR data and creating instructional goals. These goals will be shared with classes and parents in upcoming weeks.
Our School Advisory Board met last week and reviewed the school goals, the strategic plan, and the parent survey (you will receive more information in the coming weeks). Our 24-25 School Advisory Board members are: Kelli Kopocis, Melissa Adams, Scott Sanderson, Jarred Roy, Charles Cooper, Jennifer Ross, Kari Hohenstein, Amanda Treiber, and Nicole Paus. We are grateful for their time, input, and commitment to our school.
I continue to pray for all of our students, families, and staff. You are always at the forefront of my thoughts and in my heart.

Veteran's Dress Down Day Tomorrow
Veterans Day Assembly
On Monday, November 11th our school will have a Veterans Day Assembly at 9 AM in the Gym. Students should come to school in full uniform, not Martyr Monday dress in honor of veterans. We would like to invite all veterans in our school family to attend. This includes parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc. If you or someone from your family plans to attend, and would like to be honored at the assembly, please complete the below form.
Reconciliation for 3rd-8th Graders
Next Tuesday, Nov. 12th (3rd-5th) & Wednesday, Nov. 13th (6th-8th), our students will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation while at school. What a gift it is to receive God's loving mercy! Our teachers will give a refresher for anyone who needs it, but we've included a few resources below for you to help your child prepare:
Upcoming Safe Environment Training
All volunteers who plan to be in the school must Safe Environment Trained. This training is free but must be renewed every six years.
October Saint of the Month Honorees
Last week, our students were awarded the October Saint of the Month Award! These students were selected by their teachers for living lives like St. Therese of Lisieux, showing kindness and love in small ways. Congratulations to our honorees!

First Reconciliation Time Change Reminder
Second Graders will receive their First Reconciliation on Monday, December 9th & Tuesday, December 10th. The time has changed to 7:10 PM for each night. Please contact your child's teacher with any further questions.
Please pray for our second graders as they prepare to receive the grace of this Sacrament!

Dennis Uniform Closed
Dennis Uniform has closed it's business. DiGiorgio's Custom Apparel will now handle uniform needs for all the Catholic schools in the area. If you need to order more uniform pieces, please allow plenty of time, especially during busy seasons such as late Summer. Digiorgio's has also asked that we let our families know that they are hiring. Please call (402) 894-5627 for more information.
Morning Drop-Off Safety Reminder
Please do not park along "S" street on the Northeast side of the school to drop-off or pickup your student, especially at the top of the hill on the North side. This is not safe as students are unable to utilize the crosswalks where a teacher & Safety Patrol are present. Students must always use a crosswalk with teachers and/or Safety Patrol to ensure safe crossing in our parking lots at all times. Our student's safety is our top priority and we appreciate your cooperation!

Announcing our 2025 Musical: Matilda Jr.!
Musical is open to all 1st-8th graders
Key Dates for 2025 Musical:
- Registration begins Nov. 18th.
- Auditions are for grades 6-8th grades only. All middle school students must register before auditioning. All 1st-5th grade students who would like to be in the musical will be given a role.
- Auditions are on the stage from 3:30-5:30 PM on Monday, Dec. 9th and Thursday, Dec. 12th.
- Rehearsals start the week of Monday, Jan 6th.
- Tech week is MANDATORY for all students (March 30th – April 2nd).
- School performance: Thursday, April 3rd, 2025.
- General Audience performances are the evenings of Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, 2025 (presence is mandatory for all).
