A Message from Mrs. Perrault, Principal
Dear Families,
Happy Summer! It is hard to believe we are just a few weeks from the start of a new school year. We have been busy getting the school ready, ordering/reviewing curriculum, updating handbooks, and all the behind-the-scenes business that must be accomplished to have a great school year. Time sure flies when you are having fun :) Speaking of the handbooks, below you are receiving a link to the Family Handbook. Please review the policies and procedures. Please closely review the uniform guidelines and Dress Down Day policy so there is no confusion about what your child is allowed to wear to school. Also, look at the “Inclement Weather Policy” as it has changed a bit. You will also find links to some Archdiocesan policies and forms.
Staffing Update
Mrs. Rebecca Berry (8th grade English & Language Arts (ELA)teacher) will not be returning as a full-time staff member for the 2024-25 school year and will serve as a substitute teacher instead. Subbing will allow her more flexibility, which she needs at this time. We have hired Mrs. Kristin Koubsky to teach 8th grade ELA. Mrs. Koubsky comes to us with several years of experience teaching Middle School in our Catholic schools. She is currently the Youth Minister at St. Charles Borromeo. I know that her experience and faithfulness will benefit our school and your children.
I am so excited to begin my seventh year as principal of this amazing school. Our school community has been a gift I continue to cherish every day. I look forward to welcoming our new students and families. I can’t wait for them to experience the joy of Faith, Community, and Learning that makes St. Stephen the Martyr School a true blessing.

2024 - 2025 Family Handbook Now Available
The Family Handbook is updated for the 24-25 school year. It is linked below, posted on our website, and linked in our app. Please be sure to review it carefully as changes have been made since last school year.
We know children often have summer growth spurts! Please review the Dress Code section for the length requirements for shorts, skirts, skorts & jumpers to ensure your child's uniform meets our standards!
All families must complete the Family Handbook Acknowledgement Form by August 27, 2024. You can complete the form via the Family Portal in your web browser, or by following the below steps in our SSM School App.
Kindergarten Parent Meeting & Experience Days
We can't wait to welcome our Kindergarteners on July 30th & 31st for Kindergarten Experience Days. If you haven't had a chance to register your child, we have extended the deadline to today, July 17th. Click here to register.
Parents/guardians are invited to join us on Monday, July 29th from 6:15-7 PM in the Dining Room for a Kindergarten Parent/Guardian Meeting. Our teachers are excited to meet parents, provide a curriculum overview, and review helpful information for your child's upcoming year. This meeting is for parents/guardians only and registration is not required. You may enter through the North or South School entrance.

One month!?! We can't believe summer is almost over, but we are so excited to welcome our families back for another great school year!
At our Back to School Event, you can plan to drop off your child's school supplies, meet their teachers, check out their classroom, and visit the various club & activities booths in the gym. Details are posted online at

Summer Play Dates
Our Summer Play Dates are open to all PreK, TK and Kindergarten St. Stephen the Martyr families. All are welcome to come, we just need a headcount for the kids so we know how many treats to get and plan accordingly!
New Family Mass
New families are invited to join us for Mass on Sunday, August 11th at 10:30 AM. Mrs. Perrault and volunteers from Home & School will be in the Dining Room after Mass to greet families & answer questions. Families with PreK, TK, or Kindergarten students are encouraged to head to the playground for our final Summer Play Date! We hope you will join us as we join together United in Christ!

Interested in supporting our school while promoting your business? Become a 2024-25 St. Stephen the Martyr Corporate Sponsor! This year’s fundraising efforts will help underwrite the cost of updating restrooms throughout our school and professional development for our teachers. Additional funds raised will be used for new student desks, security upgrades and technology subscriptions. The deadline for sponsorships is July 31st. Questions? Register for the Keego Open benefitting SSM!
A Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of Kevin Keegan, father of three St. Stephen the Martyr students; Rex Keegan (4th), Davis Keegan (2nd) and Londyn Keegan (K), will be held on August 8, 2024. This year, Melissa Keegan and her kids are very excited for St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School to be the recipient of the donation and all proceeds will be used to enhance the recess area.
