Come celebrate the beginning of Advent and the Feast of St. Nicholas with a morning filled with the Knights of Columbus’ famous pancake breakfast and St. Nicholas festivities including Sleepless from Seattle specialty coffee cart, hot cocoa, fun activities for the kids, and a visit from St. Nicholas himself. Please RSVP so St. Nicholas can be prepared for all of the children attending! This event is hosted by St. Stephen the Martyr Home & School Association and St. Stephen the Martyr Knights of Columbus.

Please participate in our annual Angel Tree Project, sponsored by the St. Stephen the Martyr Social Justice Ministry. This year, we will provide gifts for the elderly served by the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging (ENOA).

There are Three Ways to Participate:

Sign up to “adopt” a specific person(s). Our goal is to adopt 100 individuals. Sign-up sheets & and wish lists will be available in the Gathering Space after all Masses on Saturday, November 4th, and Sunday, November 5th. Wish lists contain up to three items. Wrapped/tagged gifts can be returned under the tree in the Gathering Space through December 3rd.
Take an ornament from one of the trees and return the item(s) under the trees. These items should not be wrapped. ENOA will give them to clients as needed.

Give Stamps, Gift Cards, Cash/Checks: You can donate books of stamps, $10 or $25 gift cards (Walmart or Target), cash or checks by placing them in the wooden drop box labeled “Angel Tree Project” in the Gathering Space. Checks should be made out to St. Stephen the Martyr Church.

Weather Cancellations

Should icy or snowy weather occur, the Religious Education program observes the school closing policies of the Millard School District. If Millard Public Schools cancel classes or evening activities due to inclement weather, we will not hold Religious Education classes that evening. Occasionally, because of deteriorating weather conditions during the day, we will need to cancel R.E. classes late in the afternoon or early evening, even when Millard has held classes. Cancellations and plans for re-scheduling activities will be published on the parish web-site at www.stephen.org. Parents will also be notified by text messaging or email. Parents should use their discretion as to whether it is safe for their children to attend class. The safety of our children is always our primary concern.

Dear Parents,

Cold and flu season is upon us. We ask that you keep your child home if he or she is not feeling well or is exhibiting any flu-like symptoms including, but not limited to fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue as well as vomiting and diarrhea. They should be symptom free for 24 hours.

Christmas Flower Memorials

We are collecting donations for Christmas Flowers for our worship space. This opportunity is a great way to remember loved ones who have gone before us. Donations can be made online or placed in the Offertory Basket using your Offertory Envelopes received in the mail. Please be sure to add your loved one's name in the special intention field. Please make your donation by Dec. 11th to be included in the Dec. 24th bulletin.

Free Throw Contest

Since 1972, councils have sponsored the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship for boys and girls from the ages of 9 to 14 to provide an athletic outlet and encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Kids compete within their own gender and age and progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competitions. Just show up at the gym on January 5th; no registration required!
