A Message from Mrs. Perrault, Principal
Dear Families,
Thank you again to all of our parents and families that joined us for conferences this year. I would also like to extend a special thank you to our Home & School Association for providing our staff with meals during the day.
We had so much fun at our Halloween parties and appreciate all of our parent volunteers. November is the month we remember to give thanks for all of our blessings and we have truly been blessed here at St. Stephen the Martyr with our wonderful and supportive community.
Tomorrow will be a day where teachers gather for faith formation, followed by professional development over using student data to guide curriculum development. We are so grateful for our teachers who work so diligently to partner with families to provide a great Catholic education.
At times we understand parents may have concerns or even frustrations. Please be reminded that the primary goal of all parent/teacher communication is to collaborate with one another to address issues and solve problems for the benefit of the student. We expect these collaborations between parents and staff to be both respectful and charitable. As we request this from parents, we also continue to work with our teachers to develop positive strategies for effective communication. Our Family Handbook outlines the ‘Parental Concerns & Procedures’ policy on page 22 which states “Every effort should be made to resolve questions, concerns, and problems at the earliest possible stage in a manner appropriate for Christians.”
Our teachers do a great job of trying to respond to parent emails promptly. While some choose to respond to emails on weekends, evenings, and over breaks, please know our teachers are not expected to reply outside of their contracted hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4 PM. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response. As always, if there is an urgent issue during the day, please call the school office.
Our school administration, staff, and teachers are so grateful to be able to collaborate with you to educate your children. I encourage you to share your support and acknowledge our staff members for all they do every day for your children.
United in Christ,
Mrs. Perrault
