Grow closer to Christ as a family this Lent!
Watch for a series of 7 emails that will be sent to all in the parish that includes reflections and activities to help families truly enter into the Lenten season and grow in relationship with the Lord. From coloring sheets and recipes, to activities and videos, this series of emails are a beautiful way to bring families closer to each other and to Jesus this Lenten season. Stay tuned!
This Lent, our community will participate in CRS Rice Bowl, a program that invites us to reflect on the challenges of global hunger—and our Gospel call to care for our global human family. Each family received a rice bowl this week at class. By joining our prayers, fasts and alms this Lent with those of other parishes in the United States, we will help millions of women, men and children around the world whose economic challenges have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Together as a Church, through CRS Rice Bowl, we can contribute to the efforts of those who seek to build a better world for themselves and their communities.
CRS Rice Bowls will be collected at the end of Lent, so stay tuned to learn more. Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl with your family.
Altar Servers Wanted!
Starting on March 19th, we will return our servers to their full capacity of serving the altar at Mass. That means we need more servers to step up to help! We will have a series of training sessions for new and returning servers. These sessions are open to children in 4th grade through high school. No need to register/RSVP, just come for the time that works for you:
• Saturday, March 5, 9:30 – 10:30 AM
• Monday, March 7, 4 – 5 PM
• Thursday, March 10, 4 – 5 PM
• Saturday, March 12, 9:30 – 10:30 AM
• Tuesday, March 15, 4 – 5 PM
• Friday, March 18, 4 – 5 PM
Serving at Mass is a great way for your children to learn about giving back to their community. It also provides a deeper engagement in the Mass! If you have any questions, please reach out to Logan Hepp, l.hepp@stephen.org.
Whether you are a sacristan, EMHC, staff member, coach, catechist, or a parent hoping to help in the classroom or with school events, our Diocese requires that you be Safe Environment certified! Come learn and be empowered to be an ambassador of our Church and an advocate for our families and youth. Training is free of charge, but registration is required. Register at omaha.cmgconnect.org.
