A Message from Mrs. Perrault, Principal
It is hard to believe that we are starting the 4th quarter of this school year. I am so proud of all of our students and staff this year for all of their hard work and positive attitudes in light of all the challenges. We really are proof that working together as a faith-filled community makes all the difference. We will have a very busy spring with many important events including First Communion, Confirmation, and 8th-grade graduation. As we prepare our final plans for these celebrations, we will be working with the Archdiocese in regards to protocols and procedures that align with DHMs and the most current health department recommendations. We are just so thankful that we will have the opportunity to be in person for these important events.
I will continue to send my Sunday emails with reminders and messages for the upcoming week. Please take the time to look through all of the attachments in this edition of the Martyr Messenger, and know that I am here for all of you if you have questions, concerns, or just want to chat about the fourth quarter or the upcoming school year. Thank you to all of you who have already registered for next year. As I mentioned before, we may have waitlists that will need to be put in place for certain grade levels. We are so fortunate to have the support of our families who truly are committed to an excellent faith-filled education.

St. Joseph, Protector of the Church - March 19th
Joseph, the foster-father of Jesus, is only mentioned a few times in the bible. But have you ever noticed that each time he is mentioned, there is a crisis going on?! Mary is going to have a baby unexpectedly. Joseph acts heroically and saves the day. There is no room at the Inn in Bethlehem. Joseph finds a stable and saves the day. Herod is jealously looking for baby Jesus, Joseph obeys the Lord's instructions to take his family to Egypt and saves the day. Joseph is seen acting quickly to obey God's will to bring about blessings for his family. And he will do that for you, too, because you are part of his family. Is there something going on in your life that could use some emergency help from St. Joseph?
The Annunciation - March 25th
On this day, we remember the day the angel Gabriel visited Mary and announced that she would be the Mother of Jesus. Even though she did not understand, she said yes. And because she said yes, the salvation of all the world was born. But God first asked. Is God asking anything of you? What would your 'yes' do for the world?
Palm Sunday - March 28th
On Palm Sunday, we sing Hosanna with the people of Jerusalem as Jesus comes into the city where he will ultimately be condemned to death. The word 'Hosanna' means 'save', 'rescue', or 'savior'. In the ancient world, palm branches symbolized victory. Welcome Christ's victory over death into your home by bringing your palms home from Mass and displaying them in your home. Print these paper palms for free! or make something with the Palms you receive at Mass. Keeping the Palms displayed throughout Holy Week is a reminder that although things may look dark on Good Friday, Christ's victory is complete!

Will you be or are you considering volunteering with the youth of our parish? Whether you're a sacristan, staff member, coach, catechist, or parent helping in the classroom, be Safe Environment certified! Come learn and be empowered to be an ambassador of our Church and an advocate for our families and youth. In-person training will be held at St. Stephen’s in the dining room from 6:30-9 PM on Monday, March 22. Participants must register online prior to attending a training, and there is no cost to attend.
Flaming Hoops Basketball Camp 2021
Boys and Girls Camp, Grade 1-3. Morning Session (8:30-10:30), June 1-4. (4-day camp) This camp will focus on the fundamentals of offense and defense and will include contests. It will cover beginning and intermediate skills, including shooting, dribbling, passing, pivoting, and defense.
Boys and Girls Camp, Grade 4-8. Morning Session (10:45-12:45), June 1-4. (4-day camp) This camp will focus on individual skills and position work for the intermediate to advanced player. Fundamentals will be stressed along with defensive and offensive moves.

Save the Date for VBS: June 14-18
Station Leaders Needed! Join us on this faith-filled adventure to help kids discover that trusting Jesus pulls them through life’s ups and downs.
Station Leaders must be 19 years of age, be Safe Environment Trained by the Archdiocese of Omaha, and be available all five days of VBS. Volunteers may waive the tuition of ONE child participating in VBS. Each station will have a few middle/high school volunteers assigned to them.

Service Opportunity
Help is needed to provide sandwiches for the sack lunches for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul! Sandwiches can be made from home, and then dropped off in the Parish Center on Monday, March 22nd between 6-8 PM. This is a GREAT opportunity to volunteer as a family and would count towards "out of parish" hours for our Confirmation candidates.
Marian Junior Golf Program
Marian Junior Golf is a development program for 6th to 8th-grade girls who may be interested in playing high school golf - at any school, not just Marian. The program will meet on four Saturday afternoons starting April 3rd at Indian Creek Golf Course for fun instructional sessions covering full swing, chipping, and putting. Robert Davis (Marian Coach), Kyle Bullerman (Indian Creek Head Pro), and several Marian varsity golfers will assist with the instruction.

Congratulations Hannah Fernandes!
Hannah is this year’s winner in the Midwest Spelling Bee. It was held on March 12. She was also the Midwest champ in 2017.
